My opinion:

Violet Bardo earned a living as a private detective and can hold just above water. When her mother calls and tells her that her spoiled sister Emily is gone and she has to look for it, reject it wants first. But her mother is stubborn and so there after, Violet, and sets out to search for and promptly discovered that her sister this time apparently really is in difficulty: the traces of their sister, they lead to a sect in the Mojave desert drives to mischief . There she discovers Gabriel Eysmont that is held by the members captured and tortured is also awful. Gabriel is one of the Schatteläufern, people who are descended from angels, and the members of the sect want information from him.

Together with Violet Gabriel manages to escape and from the moment the fate of the two seems to be welded together. Between them begins a little romance to pave that passes right at the beginning again but when Gabriel discovers that Violet is the sister of Emily, who brought him into the clutches of the dangerous cult.

The paths of Violet and Gabriel, however, cross again soon. Violets hot trail leads her and Gabriel dubious to a company that carry the blood of shadow runners dangerous experiments ...

The author Andrea Gunschera picks in the second part of the City of Angels back on some interesting topics. That is a gripping read, the author weaves a gripping story with great characters. After the strong start and traveling, the book leaves something later after, but the novel remains a fun with this little weakness and accompanying reading with a brave heroine and a dark hero. In the second volume, the author reveals more information about the shadow runners and their world. Hopefully the next volume will be published around the City of Angels.
