Lynsay Sands - The kisses of the Highlanders

title: Devil of the Highlands
Publisher: Cora Verlag, Historical Gold 229 (November 2010)

blurb:
It is called the devil! Cullen Duncan is the most infamous clan leader of Scotland: proud, cold-hearted - and perhaps worse. Nevertheless, the lovely Evelinde has just agreed to marry this man. For what may well be more terrible than living with her cruel stepmother? Although Evelinde should better be on guard because of the bad reputation that precedes the Cullen. But what if she is his incredible appeal simply can not resist? The kisses of the Highlanders ignite a consuming fire in it, unlike anything they ever knew ...

My opinion:
northern England, 1273:
Evelinde life is a nightmare: After the death of her father, she is now delivered her wicked stepmother who misses no opportunity to torment her step-daughter. Now she has decided to marry her daughter and seeks for it in the worst candidate that can be found: Cullen Duncan, a clan leader from Scotland, known as the Devil is. For Evelinde raises the question: Can your life be more horrifying?

gets a ride Do you know a passionate and very good looking man. Knowing that she must soon marry a devil, they can kiss the stranger to have at least a nice memory. Only later did the young woman learns that her secret crushes in truth Cullen himself. This is shocking how bad his fiancée is treated and immediately takes his young wife back home.

your new life proves to be a blessing: Evelinde for the first time happy, wonderful the first night in the arms of her husband, if not a shadow would tarnish their happiness: Cullen does not love her and she falls in love more and more in it ...

Among the novels by Lynsay Sands for me there are two groups: wonderful novels that I will read again and again, and books that I think is just terrible. This book convinced me to a good start and it looked so as if it would fall into the first category. But it was different. After the first hundred pages of the book builds from force and from the reading experience is a tough book, in which the sides are to only pretending. The book is not in the second group, but in sum, the book is a rather mediocre work with a been out of the plot would be far more out.

Rating:
3 out of 5

in March 2012, the book also Mira Paperback:
