My opinion:
Paige Lassi Planters biggest mistake was to marry Wes Lassiter! It is sufficient, they will not endure the brutal attacks of her husband more and runs away with her son Chris. On the run it gets lost and makes a stop in the small town of Virgin River. Chris is not feeling well and has a fever and Paige can barely stand up. In the bar of the place they get to know John "Preacher" Middleton. When he sees what state the two are, he has to sleep in a room for Paige.
Actually Paige will continue to flee again, but the gentle John can convince them to stay and days of weeks and months. With his gentle nature shows John her that not all men are like her husband, and slowly begins to take Paige again, but the fight with her husband is not over yet and with John it begins to fight.
The Virgin River series by Robyn Carr is something special and I soaked up every page of this wonderful book. The author is not limited to the pair of heroes, but also weaves the story of another person in the book. This is how the reader again some of the heroes of the first book and gets a sneak peek at the next part. Robyn Carr is a master of their people to breathe life and to convey a depth that is read under the skin. In the book you find so many passages to smile, but also sad moments where you would most like to comfort people. A very nice series that stands out in any case from the crowd.
