What Do You Write On A Congratulations Card?

Susan Mallery - Chasing perfect

Verlag: Hqn (April 2010)

Klappentext:
Welcome to Fool's Gold, California, a charming community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. There's lots to do and plenty of people to meet, especially women. Because there's just one tiny problem in Fool's Gold: the men don't seem to stick around. Maybe it's the lure of big-city life, or maybe it's plain old bad luck, but regardless of the reason, the problem has to be fixed, fast. And Charity Jones may be just the city planner to do it.

Charity's nomadic childhood has left her itching to settle down, and she immediately falls in love with all the storybook town has to offer—everything, that is, except its sexiest and most famous resident, former world-class cyclist Josh Golden. With her long list of romantic disasters, she's not about to take a chance on another bad boy, even if everyone else thinks he's perfect just the way he is. But maybe that's just what he needs-someone who knows the value of his flaws. Someone who knows that he's just perfect chasing.

My opinion:
Fool's Gold, a place in California, has one big problem: It has almost all women and men in this town are in short supply! Since something must be done and the mayor, the city planner hired Charity and they will create jobs to bring men back to this city. Charity is barely arrived in the place she met one of the few bachelors of Fool's Gold: the famous cyclist Josh Golden. Actually Charity will not Playboy in her life, but rather a solid man like Robert, but her heart beats for Josh ...

Josh Golden has ended his career as a racing driver, but does not know the true reason for that is to remain so. On the surface, is a playboy, deep inside is injured and will not bind. Charity is barely moved to the town, he will only have this one woman ...

Susan Mallery is one of my favorite writers, but I could not convince the band start their new series around the city Fool's Gold, unfortunately, right. In places the book was tough to read and pulled into the track. Somehow I had all the time would feel when I know the book, even if it is a new series, the author is building another similar elements, it has already processed in other series. Despite a nice idea and as always sympathetic protagonist, the book was only a mediocre reading. Perhaps the author raises in Part 2 of the series.
